Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German television and film actress best known for her performances in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. at the age of 16years old, she had secured a number of TV roles such as the lead role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Her highly acclaimed performance on the film for television that she made Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge. The role was in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominated movies featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable projects both at home and abroad over time. These projects include those of the British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French Historical Miniseries Napoleon. She was also on the jury at the Transylvania International Film Festival, and was also a juror at Cannes Film Festival.
